Reconstruction of the air-heating unit of blast furnace no. 2 at EVRAZ ZSMK
The project provides for measures and technical solutions for the reconstruction of air heating units No. 5, 6, 7, and 8 of Blast Furnace No. 2.
The reconstruction is aimed to increase the temperature and the flow rate of hot blast for Blast Furnace No. 2. A new air-heating unit is designed for the full production cycle with a total flow rate of hot blast of 240,000 nm3/h.
The existing air-heating unit is equipped with four air heaters with an internal combustion chamber. The main process indicators and characteristics are taken from EVRAZ ZSMK and Paul Wurth company.
It is planned to preserve as many buildings as possible of the existing complex. After reconstruction, the complex will have three air heaters, a heat recovery system and a centralized combustion air supply system. The existing air heater and air heater building will be dismantled. The air-heating unit building will be reused to host new air heaters on existing foundations.
